McNeile named JCCB Executive Director
Effective February 1st, 2010 Barb McNeile became Executive Director of JCCB. McNeile, a long-time volunteer for JCCB brings a background in corporate marketing, residential real estate, non-profit management and administration. In her first few months, Barb has concentrated on strategies for serving more clients, expanding the year-round volunteer base, increasing awareness of JCCB in the community, and enhancing office technology. As the only staff member, Barb relies on the strengths of a dedicated Board and the talents of volunteers throughout the community.
JCCB Honored by Lenexa Rotary
The Johnson County Christmas was honored to be selected as the sole recipient of the net proceeds from the Lenexa Rotary Club’s Shrimp Fest and Bingo Fundraiser. The successful and fun event was held on March 6th at the Lenexa Community Center. With over 700 people in attendance, JCCB was provided an opportunity to speak to the group as well as set up an information booth. The proceeds from the event will be used to purchase educational toys for our youngest clients – newborn to 10 years.
First Volunteer "Meet and Greet" a huge success
In an effort to increase the year-round involvement of volunteers, our first "Meet and Greet" was held on March 23rd at Merriam Christian Church. In attendance were current board members, active volunteers, and many community residents who wanted to expand their involvement or learn about JCCB for the first time. Barb O’Donnell (Board President), Barb McNeile (Executive Director) and Janell Engelhardt (Volunteer – Recruiting Chair) shared information about JCCB and offered many opportunities for year-round involvement.
