Client & Volunteer Testimonials

Clients Volunteers

"To all the great people and volunteers of Johnson County Christmas Bureau,

Thank you very much. It was the first time that we received our Christmas in advance. Kids enjoyed everything, very useful. There’s a time to give and a time to receive. Definitely, this year is one to receive. May God bless you always, especially this year. The heart that gives receives more."

"I can’t thank you all enough for your helpfulness and kindness during my shopping experience this year at the Christmas Bureau. Your smiles were greatly appreciated. You all are a blessing to my son and me."

"JCCB is a wonderful organization. They were there when I needed a little help during a time of transition while I was getting settled in Overland Park as a new single parent. If it wasn't for JCCB, I would not have been able to provide a Christmas for my son. My situation improved so that I could move from being a client to a volunteer, and have enjoyed helping out at the shop for many years."

"I am continually moved by the stories we hear as we talk to people asking to participate in our holiday shop. The loss of a job, illness, a house fire, money that must be stretched beyond our comprehensions all can force someone to need a boast and a ray of hope. To be a volunteer for the Christmas Bureau is a humbling experience, but also one that centers a person on what is important in life – the need to respect and care for those who are struggling to survive on a daily basis."

Betty Athey – Client Services Chair

"The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by volunteers in the Grocery Department to assist our fellow Johnson County residents is simply wonderful. And to experience the appreciative looks and words from our clients more than compensates for exhaustion and an aching body."

Bill Plant – Former Grocery Chair
