Current Volunteer Needs

Thank you for the contribution of your time.
We currently have a need for volunteers in the following areas.

Social Media Expertise
Translators – Spanish language skills to translate at the Holiday Shop, take client calls during the fall and translate written materials.
Grant Writer/Researcher – Use research skills to identify grants fitting our mission and write grants with the assistance of the Executive Director. Grant writing experience preferred.
Photographer – Take photos throughout the year to document activities. Own camera needed.
Powerpoint/DVD Development – Work with Executive Director to develop a professional presentation to ‘tell our story’ at community events.
Speakers – volunteers knowledgeable of JCCB who enjoy public speaking, have experienced shop, and want to increase awareness of our mission in the community.

Donation Barrel Coordinators - Maintain and coordinate 10+ donation sites.
Religious Organization Committee Members- Assist in expanding JCCB's involvement with religious organizations in Johnson County
Chairman of School Committee and School Committee Members- Maintain and expand relationships with school districts in Johnson County; assist with donation drives and fundraising efforts
Event Planning Committee Members
Assistant Department Head- Learn ins and outs of shopping, budgeting and shop operations for a specific department, such as Children's Clothing.
Garage Sale Shopper – Distribute flyers at garage sales requesting donation of new items, including gifts, toys, children's clothing, layette items, gently used warm coats and used books, particularly children's books.
Pick-up and Delivery of Merchandise and Donations – Drivers are needed throughout the year. We need drivers with a truck or large SUV. It would be helpful if driver is able to lift boxes and move to storage facilities.
