Communications
Translators – Spanish Use foreign language skills to translate written materials. Take client calls during the fall. Translate at the Holiday Shop.
Grant Writer/Researcher – Use research skills to identify grants fitting our mission and write grants with the assistance of the Executive Director. Grant writing experience preferred.
Photographer – Take photos throughout the year to document activities. Own camera needed.
Powerpoint/DVD Development – Work with Executive Director to develop a professional presentation to ‘tell our story’ at community events.
Speakers – volunteers knowledgeable of JCCB who enjoy public speaking, have experienced shop, and want to increase awareness of our mission in the community.
Scrapbooking – Review JCCB archives and develop scrapbooks/table top items for use at community events.
Youth Group Chairman - Reach out and engage youth groups including Boy and Girl scouts, religious groups, 4H, etc.
Office
Data Entry/Administrative – Enter info into the computer. Assist with mailings, form letter preparation. (Some work may be done at home)
Office Assistant – Assist Executive Director with general office duties – answering phones, filing, general office administration. Very flexible hours.
Operations
Assistant Department Head – learn ins and outs of shopping, budgeting and shop operations for a specific department, such as Children’s Clothing.
Garage Sale Shopper – Pass out flyers at garage sales requesting donation of leftover new items such as: gift items, toys, children’s/small adult clothing, baby layette items. Also request gently used warm coats and used books, particularly children’s books.
Merchandise Assistant – Remove tags, sort, and box various items in preparation for Shop.
Pick/up Delivery of Merchandise and Donations – throughout the year. Need to be able to lift boxes and move to storage facilities.
Shop Assistant – Help specific Department Chair at shop with coverage, inventory, etc.
Sewing Opportunities
No-sew blankets for teens and nursing home residents.
Ponchos for plus-sized adults.
Knitted scarves and hats for all ages
Walker pockets and lap blankets for nursing home residents.
